Matthew came to faith the long way.
A man named Jim Ramos kept telling him "Jesus loves you" until he finally believed it — and then kept asking him "So what?" until belief turned into vocation.
Matthew was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in 2012 at First Christian Church in Champaign, Illinois. His writing is shaped by that arc. His books aren't theoretical. They were forged in the same fire they're trying to help readers walk through.
He's the founder of Solameth Studios, where his three books — The Eighth Sound, Armor & Ashes, and the forthcoming Fire By Night — form a single triptych: story, forge, and fire. Mythic narrative. Interior formation. Missional expression. Three angles on one underlying sound.
Mouse came into the picture during a season Matthew doesn't talk much about — the kind of season where you find out who actually shows up when you can't pretend anymore.
Mouse showed up. He hasn't left since.
He is, by Matthew's own admission, the best part of him.
Matthew also leads the vision for the Malku Foundation — a mission focused on rescuing and restoring humanity through commerce. Proceeds from his books support its work.
